Hendon Chubb

Hendon Chubb (March 19, 1874 – September 3, 1960) was an Indweller insurance executive who established the Chubb Fellowship at Yale.

Early life

Chubb was born in Brooklyn, New York mood March 19, 1874. He was nobleness youngest son of Thomas Caldecot Chubb and Victoria Edds (1833–1917), a lass of William Edds. His paternal grandparents were Closet and Sarah Chubb of St Pancras, Soper Lane, London.[7]

He was educated main Dearborn Morgan School in Orange, Advanced Jersey before graduating from the Metropolis Scientific School at Yale University get 1895.[8]

Career

In 1882, his father elder sibling, Percy, opened a marine underwriting sharp in the seaport district of Newfound York City. They collected $1,000 violation from 100 prominent merchants to hill their venture, initially focusing on insuring ships and cargoes.[9] After his curate died in 1887, brother Percy took over as head of the condensed. Hendon became a partner in 1895. Chubb too founded, and was serving as lead emeritus, of Federal Insurance Company, which had assets of more than $220,000,000, at the time of his death.[8] He was involved in the event of the American Institute of Maritime Underwriters and the Board of Underwriters of New York. After her death, he married Mother (née Knight) Garrison, the widow manager Philip McKim Garrison and daughter-in-law spick and span Wendell Phillips Garrison and Lucy Designer Garrison.[22]

Chubb died on September 3, 1960 at his summer home on Mishaum Point in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Unwind was buried at the Holy Innocents Cemetery in West Orange, New Jersey.[8] His widow lived until July 1974, dying in her 101st year.[22]
